My setting of a 15th century English carol. I've always loved the medieval carols where Baby Jesus speaks up with a wisdom beyond his years. In this piece, I feel the tension between Jesus speaking about his future and Mary remaining present to her infant son's immediate needs--and perhaps her own need to sleep, or to sit and ponder all the information coming at her!
